Counselling is a professional therapeutic service that offers you a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It provides support as you work through challenges, make sense of difficult experiences, and develop strategies that promote emotional wellbeing and personal growth. At its heart, counselling is a collaborative process where you are listened to with care, respect, and without judgement.
Counselling and psychotherapy are both talking therapies, but they can differ in focus and depth.
Counselling is often shorter term and supports you in navigating current difficulties using your existing strengths and skills. It helps you understand what is happening in your life right now and find practical ways forward.
Psychotherapy usually takes place over a longer period. It explores deeper rooted patterns, including experiences that may originate in childhood, and offers space to understand how these may be affecting you today. This work can take more time, as it involves gently uncovering and processing longstanding emotional themes.
I am trained in the pluralistic approach, which recognises that different people need different things at different times. This allows me to offer psychotherapeutic counselling tailored to your individual needs, drawing on a range of methods to support you in the way that feels most helpful and meaningful.
Your initial 10–15 minute call with me is a gentle opportunity to share what’s been going on for you, ask any questions, and get a sense of whether therapy feels right. If we decide to move forward, we can book your initial consultation.
This first meeting is slightly different from regular sessions, as it gives us time to get to know each other. I’ll ask how you’ve been feeling, what has brought you to therapy, and what you would like support with. We’ll explore the issues you wish to work on so I can I can understand the difficulties you’re experiencing and determine how best to support you.
We will also go through the counselling agreement, and you’re welcome to ask anything about how therapy works. Therapy is not a quick fix; it can take time to understand your thoughts and feelings and to build the confidence needed to make meaningful changes in your life.
Initial consultations last between 50 and 90 minutes, depending on the complexity of what we discuss.
Once we agree to work together, your therapy sessions will begin with Andreea Pop Counselling. Sessions take place online or over the telephone, and you will receive a reminder the day before.
Each session lasts 50 minutes.
You can book, reschedule, or cancel sessions via email, telephone, text, or WhatsApp. If you need to cancel or rearrange, please give at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made later than this are subject to the full session fee.
The length of therapy varies depending on your needs and the nature of the issues you’re exploring. We will review this together regularly.
Between sessions, you are welcome to get in touch via email, text, or WhatsApp if you need to share practical information, ask a brief question, or update me about scheduling.
Payments are made before your session begins via bank transfer, Revolut, or PayPal. An invoice will be issued for each session.
All consultations and sessions are strictly confidential within safeguarding boundaries. You can read more about confidentiality in the Privacy Policy.
The fee for each session is £45.
